Geoweb is a system made of perforated high density polyethylene stripes that are connected by a very strong ultrasonic joint. When expanded, it  looks like honeycombs in which cells an infill material is inclosed (soil, concrete, gravel) and so it gives great results in different kinds of infrastructure projects.
System is successfully applied as a protection of embankment and channel slopes, river banks, ski tracks, bridge abutments, for recultivation of open mines, for reinforcement of the walls of artificial accumulations and as a protection of membranes in landfills. Cellular system Geoweb is successfully used for protection of slopes against erosion. Good flexibility of the system allows it to take on the natural shape of the protected slope. Depending on the characteristics of the slopes a different kind of infill mateial is used in combination with different anchorage systems.
It is possible to have a green surface, since it is possible to use top soil as infill material and perforations on cell walls allow the passing of water and nutrients . When there is vegetation, the roots also pass trough perforations which helps prevent loosing vegetation because of hydraulic forces.
The drainage trough perforations reduces the weight of the infill, sliding forces and makes the entire system very stable.
The choice of the shape of the cell depends completly on the propreties of the slope (length, height, surface, angle of the slope), and also on the type of the infill material. When the angle of the slope is 30 degrees and less, it is possible to use large cells, but for steeper slopes middle cells should be applied. The height of the cell wall, regardless of its surface size, should be in concordance with the conditions of the project.

     The use of inert materials is wide when it comes to road construction. Application of CCS Geoweb with a specific cell-wall height improves the propreties of the infill material.
The material is inclosed in cells that prevent any movement and increase its resistance. This allows the use of the material with poor propreties (sand, river gravel etc.) The cellular structure distributes the concentrated load on the neighbour cells so it reduces the pressure beneath the load and also the necessary thickness of the bearing layer of the inert material. 
    The perforations on the cell walls hve specific dimensions and position. Because of that the friction angle between the wall of the cell and the infill material and creates a better cohesion and even distribution of the load. Perforations also provide the drainage of subterrenian and surface waters and prevents their retention is some areas in cases where the road embankment is built on soil that has poor permeability.
    Geoweb has various advantages in comparison to the solutions in use up to now. The application of Geoweb renders the entire project more cost-effective, especially when it comes to the soil with low load-bearing capacity or a soil that is supposed to withstand heavy loads, and all because of the reduction of the thickness of the necessary layers and faster construction pace. Geoweb guarantees that the inert material in whole will last longer, which is important for the longivety of the road and the reduction of the maintenance costs.

     Geoweb system offers various and flexible solutions when it comes to protection of open canels and hydrotechnical installations liable to erosion. Depending on acctual conditions and demands system works with different infill material:

• different types of crushed stone depending on hydraulical conditions of the river bed or chanals.

Application of this system on the chanal slopes and river banks where vegetation is required is reccomended since the roots pass trough the perforations in horisontal and vertical direction and goes trough the geotextile that is put on the base, which improves the resistance of the protection layer exposed to longer hydraulic influence.
    Using the concrete as the infill material turns the system into a relatively flexible concrete materass with dilatation openings, so there is no need for additional works like with traditional methods.
   Designing protection structures demands clear defining of maximum water flows and hydraulic loads on the protection structure. Other benificial factors are greater friction angle, hydraulic efficiancy of the protection layer, its easy maintanence and simple cleaning of the created deposit.
